Advisers who want to wow their clients are increasingly using technology to help do it.
This includes embracing innovative ways of demonstrating key concepts using interactive visual tools, such as presentations, mindmaps, calculators and lots more.
However, sometimes the best planned engagement methods can be waylaid when you don’t have access to a projector or LCD TV to plug your laptop into.
A couple of weeks ago I came across a great piece of tech called the ASUS MB168B+. This nifty little portable USB display is a great tool for advisers and other professionals wanting to use visual aids in their client meetings, but who may be meeting somewhere other than their own board room. At $250, it’s a great tool to have in the kit bag.
However, last week I was alerted to another option (thanks Yul Hardick of First Capital!) that provides another awesome option in this space.
Air Display is a great application for PC and Mac that can be used to turn your iPad (iOS 6 and above) into an external display.
So, as long as you are connected to the same wifi network, it means you can hand the iPad to your clients to view what you are doing on your laptop screen in real time. No more huddling around your 13″ screen!
At just over ten bucks, this is an ingenious little solution that is not only hugely portable, but possibly even a better alternative to the traditional boardroom configuration.
Yet another way to wow clients with technology and, if you’ve already got the iPad, low cost too!
